ÉCOLE DES MAÎTRES 2016 /CHRISTIANE JATAHY (BR)
Cut, frame and border
final demonstration of the École des Maîtres 2016 – International course of itinerant theatrical training
Cut , frame and border is ispired by Short Cuts, the movie by Robert Altman. At the head of the École des Maîtres 2016, the Brazilian director Christiane Jatahy works with European actors of the international course on the topic of relationships in the present. Landscapes of a social reality that compresses and explodes; in abandoned town, in crowded apartments, between clashes and violence, in large social differences, between visible and invisible borders. A fragmented record revealing the collective experience of the polis. Cut, frame and border is a plural and choral performances involving, simultaneously, different spaces. Security cameras capture images, while the dramaturgical system defines rules and conditions for the improvisations of the actors, according to an open process that will change each time.
