Exil is an evening that came to life in a number of occupied spaces in Milan as a sort of street-project self-financing activity. It approaches artistic, political and cultural contexts that otherwise would never be encountered, and out of the precarious nature of artistic work it creates strength, the possibility of speed, change and a constructive relationship with the outside that leads us to discover that we are similar, focused, with similar desires.
BIOGRAPHY
Strasse (Milano) is a project founded in 2009 by Francesca De Isabella and Sara Leghissa.
It works on the performative language linked to the body expression in connection with the urban landscape, and on the cinematographic language as an observing filter on reality. Strasse’s artistic research is mainly based on the practice of site-specific creation. It gives the audience the possibility to change their point of view, allowing them to see what already exists, in order to create new frames surrounding scenes and things.
In the last years the group produced Drive_in (2012), Solo (2014) and a number of projects as Exil and T.Rex, which use the format of a party to generate connections, to knock down categories and remove the distinction between different audiences and between artists and audience.
